Developing CRM for Non-Profit Organization
Every enterprise these days needs CRM development for proper utilization of all the assets and resources of the organization. Non-profit organizations also require customer relationship management like the commercial enterprises. It has been observed that the non-profit organizations have more complex CRM requirements then the commercial organizations. There assets, structure and resources are more complicated than the commercial enterprises. A lot of NGOs and non-profit organizations are hiring IT firms for accomplishing their projects related to this domain. A non-profit organization largely depends on the goodwill in market, and it is very difficult to keep a track of goodwill because it cannot be measured. A non-profit organization has to face challenges in this regards due to the diverse field of work. In most of the non-profit organizations, volunteer staff is involved in addition to the employees of the organization. In addition to the sales by the organization, they also have to keep a track of the gifts. Their communication needs are vast and vary according to the situation and requirement. There communication medium may be an email, press, telephonic call or a mix of all. They are involved in more social events and partnerships as compared to the commercial organization. This is the reason due to which, such type of development work for a non-profit organization becomes a tedious task. It can be noticed that, it is particularly beneficial for the non-profit organization. A CRM application for a non-profit organization will include every individual, team and organization impacting it. Many IT companies like Microsoft and Convio provide special CRM applications for non-profit organizations. They consist of features like donor tracking and volunteer response reports. The project in this case should always commence after the CRM manager has assessed all the data situation of the organization. The application developed should provide the organization with all the opportunities open according to the requirements and data information collected. It is known that though a non-profit organization works largely on goodwill and donations, so in this scenario, hiring a big budget company for such type of project is not practical. However, there are lots of companies these days which provide development services to non-profit organization at a very affordable cost. An organization should always try to make the application open source, so that if in future, a need to add more features or functionality comes up, an easy modification could be done rather than hiring another software development company for the same. |
